When a disaster strikes and you need to flee, what do you do first?

Every 2 seconds someone becomes displaced due to conflict or natural disaster.

Have you ever thought about what life is like for one of the 79.5 million people around the world who have been forced to leave their homes? How much do you know about the plight of refugees worldwide?

Take part in Medair UK's Refugee Experience

Medair UK’s interactive Refugee Experience video helps you think through what a refugee might experience, and put yourself in their shoes. Click on the video below to take part.

What would you do first if conflict or disaster forced you to flee from your home? What would you take with you and what would you leave behind? How might that make you feel?

Facts & Figures

  • 79.5 million people were forcibly displaced in 2019 (UNHCR).
